Introducing Country Beds
•
Nestled between state forests on Massachusetts’ northern border, The Country Bed Shop is a specialized producer of American Heritage beds and custom furniture. With more than 50 years of experience, their hands-on approach makes them a perfect partner in our dedication to American craft.
In our latest collection, we’ve reimagined our most-loved Country Beds through a classic Sunday Shop lens.
The Knight Bed
Named for Bostonian Sarah Kemble Knight—a Puritan era business woman, traveler, and diarist—this bed’s simplicity makes it the perfect place for reading and reflection. A true heirloom, this bed is an exact reproduction of an 18th century low post bed.
The Alcott Bed
Named for Louisa May, of course, the Alcott is the perfect weekend (or weekday) getaway when layered with colorful textiles and oversized pillows. We recommend calling in sick, grabbing a warm cup of tea, and tucking into Greta Gerwig’s Little Women for an afternoon of cozy delight.
Classic Curves
With its time-honored shape, the Alcott Bed speaks to heritage craftsmanship. Simple posts crowned with hand-turned finials are a subtle complement to the gently curved headboard.
Detail Oriented
Precise construction and refined finishes transform each bed in this collection into an heirloom for generations to come.
Traditional Twist
An homage to a more primitive style, an optional rope detail speaks to the handmade construction behind 18th century slumber.
Brass Tact
A celebration of form and function, solid brass bolt covers elegantly conceal joinery while keeping bolts accessible.
Dreaming in Color
All Country Beds are made of solid maple and come alive when drenched in color. Available in a curated palette hand-picked by our sister studio, Logan Killen Interiors, beds are brush painted with milk paint to achieve a textured matte finish.
Black Iron
Muted and a little bit smoky, this soft black is evocative of burning incense and charcoal on paper.
Blue Spruce
A gentle, deep hue, Blue Spruce is a grounding and timeless blue that echoes dew on evergreen branches.
Willow
Earthy and saturated, this brassy green plays well with others. Warm and just neutral enough, it layers beautifully with bright textiles or crisp white linens.
