Sangre de Fruta

Sangre de Fruta’s exceptional organic products illustrate that quality botanicals, daily rituals, and mindfulness are foundational elements for true self-care and a deeper appreciation for the quiet power for the natural world. All products are made from the fruit of the earth in small batches on Bowen Island, British Columbia.

Sangre de Fruta was founded by Allison Audrey Weldon after years studying under a Vancouver-based collective of international expats who led a renowned holistic medicine apothecary in the hippie haven of Kitsilano during the 70’s. Over the course of her apprenticeship, Allison learned the art and science of therapeutic botanicals and natural remedies from these master holistic practitioners. Their teachings combined Egyptian beauty regimens with Pablo Neruda love sonnets creating a blend of ancient natural remedies with passionate love rituals.

As all ingredients are drawn from Mother Earth, these ingredients are more complex than the sum of their parts. This is where the name ‘Sangre de Fruta’ comes from–blood of fruit–we are drawn to soak in the essences of Mother Nature. The closer we get to nature, the more we understand.

Off the West Coast of Canada lies a small, picturesque lavender farm woven between the ancient trees of Salt Spring Island. An earthy floral fragrance floats on the ocean breeze as rolling hills of lavender and immortelle flourish and entwine. A haven for bumble bees and other charming insects. This is the story of Sangre de Fruta’s Island Grown Botanicals.

“Each island grown botanical is harvested and distilled with great care and deeply respected for its powerful healing and sensorial benefits.”
