Furniture design studio Sun at Six explores how spaces affect our everyday choices and how we interact with others.

Building on a decades-long familial mastery of traditional Chinese joinery in Beijing, creative director Antares Yee celebrates the history of hand-crafted goods and works to fight Made in China stereotypes.

From humble beginnings as a tiny workshop in his mother’s hometown, each Sun at Six piece is still created in-house, working with masters of Chinese joinery—many of whom Yee has known since childhood.

Oyster Dining Table

Designed to emphasize sensorial engagement, the oversized curved legs and unique organic elements (think knots, nooks, and crannies) of the Oyster Table showcase the solid wood from which it is crafted. Created with the intention of highlighting the warmth brought by beautiful, natural materials, this table is an absolute spectacle.

“…How we arrange our spaces can help us—to engage our friends, or sink back and relax. To focus and motivate us, or help us disengage and unwind. Spaces can help influence our choices, how we live, and how we feel.”
