About the Artist

Pearce Williams has plied her love for color, shape, and pattern throughout her life and career—covering every imaginable surface with bold, bright, fantastical images and abstractions. Interested in the themes of humor and absurdity in domestic life and our relationship with everyday objects, this collection of ceramics is an exploration of simple, classic shapes made slightly ridiculous with the addition of patterns or, as she calls them, “stuck-on bits” of nature.

Made from a combination of coiling, pinching, and slabs, Williams is hopeful that these playful forms radiate something of the inner life she deeply believes all objects have. Currently living in New Orleans, Pearce continues to work in a variety of mediums.
